Dr. Johnson was a part of a team of researchers receiving a $1.7 million grant from the Department of Energy for a project titled “I-DREEM (Impact of Demand Response on short and long term building Energy Efficiency Metrics).” The project will be a collaboration between the University of Michigan, Stanford University and NC State. The PI and co-PI of the project are Sila Kiliccote from Stanford and Professor Johanna Mathieu from the University of Michigan.

Joe presented his research on solar powered integrated greenhouses in Roanoke Rapids, NC at the Center for Energy Education to a wide ranging audience including academics, professionals, local residents, and students during their annual solar energy festival.
